timo for me, i use journaling as a tool for my mental health, and gauging when in the past i wrote the most via a word count would give me a great idea of any patterns in regards to when i tend to feel the lowest, for example if i tend to feel worse in winter. i have moved from day one, and there i could see a word count, and i would tag the entries that were over 500 words and over 1,000 words as that usually indicated a bad day, and over time i could look and find patterns and triggers. the daily word count is the only feature i miss from day one.
