Chipping in to advocate for this. I'm also an artist/poet/writer, and word count is something to live by as a means of daily "exercise" for writers so that we know how much effort we've put into our work. I also engage in using "Morning Pages," and it would be a great feature to have a tag that tracks word count.
That way, if I know I'm doing my Morning Pages, I'll set a tag for 'Word Count" and it will grow as I type, and then if I don't need a word count (like if I'm simply journaling), then I wouldn't set a "Word Count" tag.
At this time I've only set a template designated as "Morning Pages" and then when I think I've done 1,500 words, I'll highlight and copy/paste it over to a word counter website to confirm it.
A "Word Count" as a tag that adjusts itself in real-time would be a wonderful quality-of-life feature for writers and artists alike.
I also just want to say I appreciate the work you've put into this, Timo; I'd spent years looking for a journaling platform that felt right and synced across all platforms--this is the the app for it. Thank you for the features you've put in over time.
