Your app is absolutely brilliant. The fact that you cannot insert the pictures into the text is unfortunately a big minus point. It would be great if this were possible in the future. Can't it be implemented as in the standard IOS Notes app?

For me, this issue, being able to insert photographs related to the text in a paragraph, for instance, was something that has led me to move from Diarium to Day One. It’s a shame as I don’t think it would be that hard to program it to do so, but if it’s not likely to be added there’s no point in me waiting for it. Otherwise, I think Diarium is excellent.

Yet another vote for inline images. I plan on migrating from DayOne. However, I am a heavy image user and I always wrote something about the photo. I believe inline images have the nice use of adding context to what you are seeing and when showing your entry to someone, you won't have to click on the photo and then return back. From my perspective it looks like a simple addition to the app. But I am not a programmer so I don't know any possible complexity.
I hope maybe one day we will get it.

I wish it was easy to implement, but it certainly isn't. I see that this is a highly requested feature and I would give it more priority if wouldn't have to dedicate so much time on it. In the meantime, I prefer focusing on other things that are easier to realize.

timo Just a thought - with Apple Journal out now,. you may need to up your game with implementing a proper word-processor-like UI (see below), especially if they port Journal to iPad and Mac.

I, too, would like to add my vote for inline photos. Perhaps if the text engine could be more word-processor-like, then you would solve a lot of feature requests at once: proper indentation; lists with multiple indents/layers; margins; inline photos with text wrapping (anchor left or right or full-width centre); keyboard shortcuts (Cmd-B, Cmd-I, etc) = many benefits.

As I said in my previous comment, it is not trivial to implement text formatting. The single-level lists that Diarium features did already cost me multiple weeks in time to get right and ported on four different platforms. Thanks for comparing my app with Microsoft Word, probably the leading text processing program in the world, made by the most valuable company in the world over several decades, with thousands of highly-skilled software engineers. Unfortunately, I am just a solo developer with limited resources 😉

Ya, I get that it's a bit of work, but formated text with inline images is basically a requirement for this kind of application.

If the inline images are too hard to implement, then another option for now could be an image link. For example: I right click on the image and select option "Copy image link". Then I insert this link in the text and when I click this link the image will open up as if I clicked the image directly. While this may not be as good as an inline images, but at the very least this will allow to reference the images in the text somehow.

Such functionality already exists for entries and it could be easily adapted for images.
