I'd like the ability to insert images inline on a post instead of just as an attachment

This feature has been requested a few times already, but it's rather unlikely to be implemented.
However, I am open to suggestions on how to display pictures differently (and not just in a horizontal list below the text).
This feature request is related.

My hope is to export my journal on an annual basis. I'm thinking I will need to export and then manually move the photos around on each entry. I'm not sure how it could be different on the journal entry itself... thought knowing how I would use it might help.

The ability to insert images (+ documents) inline on a post will be FANTASTIC!

Yes +1 for inline files

I use diarium for education purposes.
I add series of steps that need to be followed in a tutorial. sometimes i have to point(image) out what i mean by words.

Currently managing with the image description and telling to look for that specific image description and the order of images. But this is not intuitive as i have to look for images, everytime i see the image description (highlighted)

Another vote for inline images. I'm a week into using Diarium and just realized I can't post inline pictures. For me, something like the way Word handles pictures with text wrapping and different insertion points would work.

I just started using the app today (switched from Day One because I was missing the cross-platform support on multiple devices and journal different types of contents daily).
It is fantastic and only misses one essential feature: inline photos šŸ™‚

As some other users mentioned, for many people storytelling needs visuals and most of the time an entry has more than 1 photo, and the order of the photos is important.

I personally feel like my existing posts have lost about 50% of the data and logic due to the photos now being all bundled at the bottom.

I need to redo a lot of them (if possible), to grab the context and match the paragraphs with the photo.

It has not yet deterred me from using the app šŸ™‚ But I feel like this feature is essential. So I hope it will be considered in the future!

Madi I'd be curious to know how you feel about using this app over more time since you came from DayOne. I too am/was a DayOne user. I have over 5000 entries in DayOne. I moved them all to Diarium to play around with it. Around the same time I moved from iOS to Android. It's been a bit of a challenge leaving DayOne behind, but I simply need more options than Mac and iOS. Anyway, best of luck to you on your journey.

ChanceEvans Hi! It has been a smoother transition than expected actually. I had to organize my content first and that was painful at first as I had about 1000 entries (using tags instead of separate diaries which I used in DayOne), and it took me a bit to get used to the photos and attachments being bundled at the bottom of the entry. But it was less disruptive than I originally expected as the order of the attachments was preserved so the flow of the stories was not ruined. The fact that I can now use the app on any platform helps massively - I use it daily šŸ™‚

Hey Timo, it would be incredibly great if pictures could be shown inline. A visual upgrade of the diary entries! Can we look forward to this feature in the foreseeable future?

Can I check if this feature is being worked on? I prefer Diarium compared to other apps. Currently using Journey as it offers this, but I like Diarium much better after using it for a while and will switch permanently if this is something that will be implemented in the near future.

      Hi Timo,

Regarding position of images it will be nice to fit it the place of cursor. Also it will be nice to have possibility to adjust size of the image. At least big and small.
Another Idea is to have possibility to switch between thumbails and inline view. Probably not all of images related to text. Related ones is inline, other inside bottom line.
Regarding your mock-up shown in the another request it look like feature "Make the main picture of entity".

But probably any fastest way will be good enough because people want feature at all. After that you can collect opinions, statistics of usage, etc.

Please do inline images! I have moved from Penzu and I liked the ability to comment on images I was evaluating.

After using Day One for 12 years and over 7,000 entries Iā€™m evaluating Diarium. It would be perfect for me if there was support for in-line images.

I am new here but I would love in line images instead of just thumbnails at the bottom of and entry.

I am begging for this feature to be added. It is so bizarre honestly that this app was ever created without it, it seems like an essential feature for so many people.

      +1 for inline pictures

I have recently started using Diarium, as I think it's the best journal app out there! My entries are mostly textual, but it would be lovely if images could be displayed in larger format that makes the entry more visual. If not inline, they could be shown at the top, as Diaro does.
