astsbins Couldn’t agree more. I searched the forum just to see if anyone else had the same opinion. I left Journey recently due to this.
I wish I could take back my $100 Lifetime license and invest it into this app instead of the $10 I used to buy a license here.
@timo said something really wise about avoiding feature creep and bloat and this is exactly why I had to leave Journey in conjunction with the reason you brought up, though I realized it late.
Journey got progressively worse because they kept adding features so much so that it bogged the app down and I had so many issues that the Journey team ignored and never responded to, despite paying so much for the app. Not only that, but when they do respond, it takes them 3+ weeks. Really bad support. They are quite rude, too, as in how dare users say the app does not work?
They also just go with the “your device, your problem” mentality when others have also reported the same thing. Worst decision I ever made was to use Journey. Looks very cool, no doubt. Sleek. But now I learn to not only invest in products, but people. Timo and Diarium FTW. After all, what is the point of so many features if you lose our on practicality and functionality?
The worst part? Despite the lifetime license now they are introducing additional fees with no real incentives for those who paid the lifetime fee. Predatory no doubt. Really bad company, even if I can understand that as developers it’s hard, it’s the manner in which you go about it that matters, and the attitude to loyal users.
Anyway, glad to be here.
