I love TJ but it does not have an iOS version, soI can't take my journal with me.
Two years ago I started using Day One and slowly copied over 7167 journal entries, each day prefaced by a heading of the form 2023.07.28, for example.
I discovered Diarium and it looks like the ultimate solution. So I exported my journal from Day One into Diarium using the import from other app function.
Two problems resulted:
- The Diarium entries stopped at September 2021.
- every parentheses came in prefixed with a forward slash
Example:
All my journal entries begin with heading line like this:
2023.07.28 (Fri) Water Aerobics, Walmart (food, gas), mowed lawn
This shows up in Diarium with four spurious forward slashes.
I tried to show an example in this note but they do not show up when posted.
This is ugly. And fixing this in Diarium is tedious, actually easier to copy the text from Day One And paste it into Diarium.
Other than this, I like Diarium a lot. The IOS version uses less than a tenth of the memory of Day One.
I guess I will live with it for now pray for a global search and replace.
