Hi gruebler :-)
This was also one of many apps I compared before finding Diarium. I also noticed that you don't have any pictures in the text, just in the "appendix". But honestly, that's not that important to me. It's a nice gimmick and maybe it will be implemented in the future, but that's not a decisive argument for me. For myself, the "financial independence" moves more and more into focus, especially at the present time. If you can save on ongoing costs and still be able to use a great app lifetime, that's a big, really big, plus point for me.
The E2EE topic, I honestly had to google first what this is 😅, but you sync with your own trusted cloud and not, as with my previous app, on a server from the app developer. This is also a big plus for me.
Multiple diaries were possible in my last app, but honestly, when do you use that? You say you want to use it for notes, but don't you have a separate app on your phone for that? Do you have iOS? There's a good notes app where you can also create "categories" and password protect them or individual notes as well. I had already considered using this as a diary, but unfortunately the export is too inconvenient for the mass of data.
I'm not familiar with Android, but I'm sure there's one there, too. And for simple notes, there are countless other free apps. I wouldn't need a diary app for that.
I hope that I could help you a bit in your decision making. I've only been using the app for a short time, but I'm really convinced by it.
Oh PS:
I also bought the Windows app a few days ago and I love how the notification set behaves there. A pop-up comes up where I can write in directly and enter a star ratingfor this day. And it syncs immediately.
I can really recommend the app(s).
Kind regards
