  • Microsoft To Do posts *nothing* to my Diarium

I think I found the underlying problem and uploaded v2.9.25 that should roll out over the next coming days. Please let me know if the problem persists with 2.9.25

timo I updated to 2.9.25 this morning and I've restarted both apps and completed some more tasks. Still nothing is showing in the diary for any day (today or past days). Maybe I need to give it some time, but I thought I'd let you know. I'll check back tomorrow.

Hmm weird, I am not able to reproduce any issue with 2.9.25.
Maybe you can try disabling and re-enabling the feature again.
The app shows finished to dos on the day they were finished.

timo hmm, I don't know what I'm doing wrong then.

      So far I've tried:

      • Updating both apps
      • Disabling and re-enabling feature
      • Uninstalling and reinstalling both apps
      • Restarting my phone
      • Removing all other external syncs (Facebook, days of the year, etc...) except for To Do

I've double checked that it definitely upgraded to 2.9.25.

I'll keep thinking and trying different things over the next couple of days.

If anyone else is having the same issue, please comment here with some details.

I have just tried Microsoft To Do using both iOS and Windows and I can confirm that something is wrong. I created a bunch of random tasks (due today) nothing appeared in Diarium. I then created a task due TOMORROW and it appeared in the feed of Diarum. I then tried another task due tomorrow - but that didn't show up.

I deleted all tasks for today and tomorrow and tried creating another task for tomorrw but nothing appeared in Diarium. I then tried a task for today just for good measure but still nothing.

I too have tried turning the integration button on and off on both devices.

EAPTCB The Microsoft To Do integration never was supposed to show "due" tasks. It shows the task on the day they were finished.
I just double-checked this behavior on Windows and it works without issues for me..
And I don't know how reliable it is when you check off a ToDo in the MS ToDo app and then check in Diarium as it may take a while until the info syncs from the MS To Do app to the cloud. I did check off todos in the MS ToDo app and they didnt show up (yet) in Diarium, but this is because the Microsoft API is not returning them, and it's not a bug in Diarium. ToDos checked off in MS Office did show up fairly quickly.

Edit: please try to add and complete a task via the web interface: https://to-do.live.com/tasks/myday
The completed task showed up for me in Diarium right after completing

timo thanks for persisting with this. I tried adding and completing a task via the web interface as suggested, but it didn't show up anywhere.

I made a video showing the task creation, completion, evidence of it syncing with the To Do app and then nothing visible in Diarium. Maybe you'll see something I've missed?

No, looks all fine in the video. I really wish I knew how to help, I have no clue why it is not working for you. I also checked with my partner yesterday and the ToDos showed up just as expected on her iPhone. Are you using the app on another platform (Windows, iOS, ...) and can you check if it is working on there?

timo I use it on windows as well and that's not working either, which makes me wonder if the issue is at Microsoft's end, but the 'why' remains a mystery.

Maybe keep it in the back of your mind in case you spot something, but unless others can replicate the issue, I know there's not much you can do.

Thanks so much for such an awesome app!

I definitely will! Sorry that I couldn't find out what the problem is...

Claire, I am having the same problem. I want to see both my completed task and those on my Microsoft To Do lists. I am attempting to use my writings in Diarium as the basis for a book. This is disappointing. Perhaps this is a feature to add?

              +1 on the problem.
And this was a remarkable assist while it worked. Sadly, doesn't anymore.

I have heard this problem be reported a few times, but I am still out of ideas what the cause could be.
If it stopped working, did it stop working for every day or just a few?
Have you started using the To Do app differently before it stopped working, e.g. added different types of to dos?
Have you tried disconnecting from the feature and then re-enable it?
I will try to add some more error logging for this feature but unsure if it helps me find the cause.

I have just tried this feature, and it doesn't work, so for me it doesn't work from day one 🙂 I am using both Diarium and Microsoft ToDo on macOS, iOS, and Windows. Will be happy to collect any useful data or run through specific scenarios.

I just created a test task in Microsoft To Do and completed it, but it appears on yesterday's diarium entry, not today's.

James This is a bug of Microsoft that I cannot workaround, see here for more info

Hey, are there plans to show tasks that are due, or open as tags? Ive been looking for a journal program that can handle this and was excited to see Microsoft ToDo as an integration option. But when I saw it only shows completed tasks I was a bit confused on what value it could add as I'd like to see my tasks for the day.

This would meet a need many have - bonus if I could add a task to ToDo from Diarum using a tag.
