Cursor keeps moving to top of the page on windows.

Hi,
I am using Diarium on both Windows and MacBook.
Mac is good overall however on Win platform, clicking at a certain section of the page always take me to the top section of the page, which means I have to manually keep scrolling down. This is more annoying when I have to copy something, so need to highlight that section. It highlights other areas in the top of the section.
Details of the platform below:
Windows 10 Pro
Diarium Version 2.9.9.0

I feel like this is part of the default Windows app behavior, the app doesn't trigger those scrolls itself. Not sure how I could fix this. Other developers encountered similar problems in their apps:

I don't really want to use the workaround mentioned in one of those threads either because it changes the default tabbing behavior that many users rely on.

Hi Timo,

I really enjoy using Diarium，it’s such a great app! That said, I wanted to ask if there’s been any update on the scrolling issue on Windows. It can be quite frustrating when writing or reviewing longer entries.

It’s been over two years since this was last mentioned, so I was wondering if there are any plans to address it in future updates?

Thanks again for all your hard work on the app，it’s one of my favorites!

There are no updates and I don't expect Microsoft to fix it in the future for the framework I am currently using for the Windows app (UWP).
I might migrate the app to a new framework (WinUI 3) in the future, but it's still heavily under development so I will do that mid of next year at the earliest. I have not tested it, but looking at the Github issue, it looks like they fixed it for WinUI 3.

If I'd know the "fix" was going to be "wait six months and MAYBE I'll fix it" TWO YEARS after it was reported, I probably would not have purchased. I expect better. Hopefully you won't be so cavalier about the other issues too. For me, if an app is annoying to use, I just use a different app. Just wish I'd known before I gave you my money. Buyer beware, eh?

AzDayton It's a bug in the framework and it's essentially not in my hands if it's being fixed or not. Sorry about that.
That being sad, I am in the process of migrating from UWP to WinUI3 and according to the link in my last message, the bug is fixed in WinUI3. I hope to finish the migration in the next few months.

The new version of Diarium using WinUI3 is currently slowly rolling out and can be installed by manually searching for app updates in the Store. I was not able to reproduce the problem any more with the version 3.1.55, so I'll think this is now fixed

Bielefeld When manually searching for app updates, you should be able to download it. Please let me know if the problem disappeared for your or not 🙂
