How Do You Use Diarium Beyond Journaling?

I use Diarium to log my medical records. I have a template to enter my data including date, doctor, location, symptoms & results, etc. I tag it "medical" so I can find them as a group.

I also use a template for paying my bills with a list, checkbox [ ] and confirmation number. These are tagged " financial".

I use a lot of tags so I can search them as a group. I use a lot of color in headings and use emojis to add interest.

This is in addition to using it as my daily bullet journal as the default template.

I’ve set up a well-thought-out system with 57 tags that I use over and over again. Sometimes other, less important tags get added too, but I don’t really need those for searching or sorting. My main 57 tags are organized into color groups. For that, I created my own color palette with 12 main colors and 12 secondary colors. I also use emojis in the tags to make them easier to spot at a glance. I’ve put a lot of effort into keeping my entries as structured as possible.
Each entry starts with a topic line, so I can better tell them apart. But since the same tags show up in different topics, there’s still some overlap, and things can get a bit messy.
I’m really glad that Diarium allows so much flexibility and customization, it’s honestly the best journaling app out there. But having the option to use multiple journals would make things a lot easier for me.
I also use 8 templates.

ive been using it as diary and mood calendar! i have about 7 colours from red to yellow to green which represent the rating i gave the day. if you add the image to the entry it appears like this and looks beautiful!

IfeanyiUdoye You need to buy a separate license to use it on your laptop. I agree that Diarium is straightforward and simple, which is why I keep coming back to it. When I want to write down my thoughts without worrying about linking or organizing them, I use Diarium. It lets me quickly jot down my ideas, and I find it easy to use and it syncs well. I haven't had any major issues so far, unlike with other apps I've tried.

Aniri Thank you for sharing your workflow. I completely understand. Sometimes I also wish for folders to keep different areas of my life organized. I’m not a fan of tags, either. When I first started using Diarium, I created too many tags. Looking back, my tagging system felt messy, and I have been trying to fix the duplicates and clean up the clutter recently.

Drew Raminez I've been using my Tag taxonomy for seven years now, and still regularly review it, deleting or amending tags, and adding new ones.

Being able to easily edit existing tag names where necessary has been an extremely useful tool in this process.

I use diarium to get answers to "when" questions.

When did the landscaper stop by last year? How much was the bill?
When did the car start making that squeaky noise?
When did you first notice the fever?
When did I last call the company to get an update on my order?

Yes. Today was a perfect example. The heater stopped working. I went to the heater and hit the reset button. Things started back up. I'm not going to place a call with my HVAC company over this one-time thing. But I noted it in diarium with some text about the circumstances. If it happens again, I'll have a record to look back on.

Even tiny things like changing a light bulb or replacing a battery get logged. My diary tends to be very boring. :-)

I use it for organizing my own personal timeline from old photos, old school work, and other dates and events from my life. Basically anytime I come across something with a date on it I'll snap a pic and add it in. Fun to unlock new memories by discovering when one event occurred in my childhood compared to another.

Also, I use the tracking feature to document what video games I've complete. I usually include a pic of the credits screen, a small review of what I thought of the game, and add a rating to each.

satnav I love this idea, but I also love seeing the calendar view with thumbnail photos. If we could have separate journals, this would definitely be a priority

I do dictation on my. iPhone but I cannot recall how to do it on Mac desktop.
I am sure it is possible. Please help!

It works with the MacWhisper-application installed on my MBookAir.
I had the mic set up for an external microphone. Now it works.
