HEX codes for color picker on android

I was wondering if it was possible to add a hex code input area for the highlighter and text color "custom color" section. It's not possible to get the same color using the color wheel as I have to sorta guess where I selected last time.

If there was a hex code input, I could paste it in each time.

Can you give some more context on what you are trying to achieve? Why are the suggested colors in the color grid not sufficient? Why is it important to get the exact same color used elsewhere?

timo I have a color scheme that I use for almost everything, and it is made up of colors that I find aesthetically pleasing. It is a palette that works well together. The colors chosen for the default list are quite harsh and not very pleasing for me.

I go through and highlight parts of the journal after writing it, and would like them to be the same (custom) color throughout.

A more robust custom color system in place would just increase the visual appeal of the app for me. Thanks for considering; I bought both android and Windows versions and it really is the best journaling app out there.

timo Hey, adding onto this. The windows version has this option which lets me input any hex code I want for the theme of the app.

On Android though, I'm limited to either the 10 colors in the selection or the colors from the system. It would be nice if I could just use a custom hex code for picking the theme color. No other reason for wanting this other than the fact that I get bored using the same themes for long and like using custom hex codes to change the theme often.

At the moment text/highlight colors are limited
I would like to have color picker so that i have more freedom to choose what colors i want

Context :
header text color and entry description colors are automatic by default but for every entry i am using grey color so that i can distinguish header from body text
But i have to scroll down all the way down while creating entry.

Two requests here:

Have color picker similar to theme color
Provide more options for last used and frequently used color on top. Similar to how WhatsApp use for recent chats and frequently used chats.

Android's themeing system simply doesnt allow for a dynamic theme color. Every color scheme has to be hard coded manually (and I did that for the 10 options available, which actually are 20 themes - 10 light themes and 10 dark themes), that's why it is not possible to allow any color to be used as theme color.

And for selecting tag color, Diarium on Android has a "more colors" button in the dialog that allows you to pick any color you wish

StephenHughes It could be implemented but before I invest the time I would like to know more about the user-case. In what context do you find it necessary to specify an exact HEX code for the tag colors?

The more I'm thinking about to have a Hex-input, the more I like this feature request - at least for tags and persons... and text highlighting. One example would be to "group" similar tags, like "Eating" & "Cooking" or "Uncle" & "Aunt", "Up's" and "Down's", as it is hard to find the same color with the color wheel for those connected things. The same counts for a (self-chosen) tag color which I'm sometimes connecting by highlighting a part in the entry itself, e.g. tag "Baking" with the highlighted text "Apfelstrudel" :-)

+1 from my side for this feature request.

For the tags, I'm fine with the provided 30 colors. I only have 6 tags so those 30 colors are more than enough. I'm not particular on the exact shade of a color.

I decided to add a HEX input field, as there's not really a drawback when adding it and it was already possible on the other platforms. (took me longer to implement than anticipated though). Will be in the next update
