So, I just wanted to bat an idea around that I had and I couldn't see anything similar in the forum.
I create a bullet list template entry each day titled Day Log. I use it to literally log the events of the day in list form (bought this item, dog was sick again, replaced wipers on car, client was really rude, etc.). However, I find it less than spontaneous opening Diarium on my phone, keying in my PIN, going to the day, selecting the entry, and then tapping in the next bullet point to make an entry.
In the Getting Things Done system, there is the concept of the Capture process and the Inbox where you capture any idea that comes to you and it gets entered into the Inbox to be dealt with later. In the GTD apps I've used, they provide a notification bar item to quick capture tasks, and these get sent straight to the Inbox in the software to be dealt with later.
I don't know how it would work behind the scenes, but I was wondering about a similar idea for Diarium. So each day, there is an entry set aside to receive items from the quick-capture entry point. Either by a widget or a notification bar item, you could enter something about the day, press enter, and this would then be sent to this particular day's entry with maybe an optional timestamp. Each additional quick-capture entry would then be added as a new line in the same entry.
Then, at the end of the day or the following morning, you could review the events of the day and journal about any particular items that you may have forgotten about. Perhaps you could even select the text, right-click, and choose 'create new entry from selection' which could carry across the text into a new entry ready for further exploration.
Keen to hear anyone's thoughts.
