Amy CvH I would recommend to not move the files that Diarium creates in your cloud storage. Simply go to the Diarium settings, then select a cloud storage of choice (if you ask me, maybe OneDrive is the fastest option) and then log in with your Microsoft account. Do that in all Diarium apps you have installed on your devices. That should be enough to have the apps in sync and an automatic backup of your journal.

The export files cannot be imported back into Diarium. So if you want extra safety, you can generate a "diary backup" file in the settings every now end then.

I have been using the iOS version for a few years and had the Mac version installed on my computer but didn't really use it. I literally just paid to have pro on Mac only to discover it wouldn't sync. I went to the App store to check versions and it says I have to have MacOS 11.0 but my MacbookPro cannot update to this version, only 10.15.7. I get that the computer is outdated but it still works fine and frankly cost a small fortune, I can't afford to replace it this soon. I'm really disappointed, had wanted it all setup for the new year.

macOS 10.15 isn't supported by Apple any more. I cannot support app versions that are that old, sorry.

I used Diarium on win10 (got it from Microsoft Store) a year ago or so, and I have the pro version for iOS. At that time, it synced ok. Right now, the sync is not working though. I usually use OneDrive or iCloud. But whichever I choose, it just simply pop up an "Error while syncing diary", saying a connection with the server cannot be established.
I cannot find where to reset the sync setting. There's no place to type in or change any login info for those services. I deleted the software and installed it again. I also tried disabling the sync, then enabling it again. But when I click sync, it just goes straight into sync error (not even asking for login info).
My app is 3.0.46.0. Any suggestion on how do to fix the sync in this situation?

That means what it says: the app isn't able to connect to the Cloud server. Network issue

Try in a different network, make sure no firewall, router or software is interfering with the network traffic

Hello, Timo! I was writing my Diarium diary for few years now on Android phone and on Windows and they were synced. But few months ago I got a new iOS phone on which I purchased an App again, but the whole last year of input was deleted while syncing on new phone and 2022. is still here. Can you please explain me how is this possible and is this in any case retractable because I have many memories written last year.

Mešin Diarium has several mechanisms that prevents accidential data loss. I don't know how one year could just vanish while another year is still there. Based on your description I think the most likely explanation is that either the sync was not enabled after 2022 or you did sync to another Cloud storage account.
Some things I didn't understand from your description: You bought your iPhone a few moneths and then the data all was still there and you just synced now or was the data on your iPhone as well and just disappeared now? Also, when you have a Windows device involved in the sync, shouldn't the data be still on that device?

Thank you for your quick answer! It suppose it disappeared the moment I synced it with the new subscription on the new phone, I just noticed it few days ago. I synced my Windows device with the newest sync, which was that on iPhone, now knowing it was deleting last year. Sorry, I'm not sure I answered all your questions.

What "subscription" are you referring to? And when it disappeared, was it present before on your new phone. And if so, how did the data get on it? I am a little confused on what happened.

timo I found the setting, but I couldn't login my OneDrive. It basically gives me "cannot reach the page" response when the login page is supposed to appear. But the thing is, OneDrive is syncing smoothly on this laptop, and I can open the Microsoft account login page on my browser without a problem. Diarium seems to be the only one unable to connect to network. What might be the potential cause of this? Or any suggestion?

Sounds like an internet problem to me. Diarium simply shows the authentication page of OneDrive. Can you share a screenshot?

Hi Timo,

First of all thanks for a wonderful app, I happily use and paid for both the android and Mac OS apps and can't believe how simple and easy they are. The only problem is, my Google Drive storage (where I have synced to) is filling up. In fact it's nearly completely full because of Diarium. I don't want to have to pay for Google Drive for the rest of my life, and I don't want to switch to OneDrive or iCloud, because I don't want to pay for them either! I do have a lifetime use of Koofr though so is there a way to back up to there? I'm not sure if this is what the WebDAV option is for. It would be shame if I can't work around this because I can't see myself paying for another service to support the use of this app.

timo I had to pay new subscription on my iOS phone and I logged in in my account I was logged in on Android device. It wasn't present on my new phone. When I synced it on iPhone, everything in my Diarium was deleted except inputs from few days ago and the next input was in 2022.

Mešin Diarium doesn't have a subscription and you don't need to pay for the iOS Pro version twice on the same account. It all sounds like you are using a different Apple account for downloading and syncing

timo I meant: I paid for Pro version in the past on my Android phone and then I had to pay another when I bought iOS phone. I didn't buy two Pro versions on iOS.

Mešin Ok, I don't understand the request/problem you are having. Doesn't sound Pro version related then. Maybe you can explain in more detail. Diarium doesn't just delete parts of your journal when syncing. When Diarium cannot decide what database is newer (local or Cloud), it merges the two into one

Hi Timo, I am having an error when trying to sync 'Error while syncing diary'.

I am using a the app on Windows 11 and syncing to iCloud. I've updated the app, uninstalled / reinstalled, updated Windows and general restart / troubleshooting.

Can you help me with this?

Forrest You need to provide more details than "Error while syncing diary". Diarium always shows more info than that
