Interesting discussion and I am really surprised that it's not possible to use multiple journals, this is in my opinion the killer argument.
Sorry to say when not available it's a real conceptional fault!

Hello! I love Diarium and would like to use it for more purposes. I just need separate, distinct journals. I'd even be willing to buy the app twice per platform if that would allow me to have two separate diaries on one device. Is there any way to make this possible? Any trick to enable that?

Hey @timo according to the amount of posts in this thread, this seems to be one of the most wanted feature requests. I wanted to ask you, can we expect this feature, to add another diary with the option for sharing the complete diary, in the next two years?
It would be really great to have this feature. I am a freelancer programmer and also willing to offer my free time to contribute to this 🙂

Fabian I see the demand for this feature. But I cannot promise anything. There's a lot of other outstanding work I need to complete first.

This feature could be useful with this other feature request:

Space for non-diary notes

Diary 1 - Standard diary with dates
Diary 2 - Diary for notes which has entries without dates.

timo it is nor the same, please add the multiple journals feature, in many homes only one computer. Congratulations for your great work

Hm. My work-around is to backup one diary to a file and save it, then create another diary and save it too. Whenever I need to switch between them, I load them from files, making sure to save the diary I'm about to close. It's quite easy and quick to do. You can create any number of diaries this way, no even need for a separate feature.

Hi there, I'm using this app to store my diaries since 2020, I think.
I'm really enjoying it and I still think it's the best journaling app on Android. But I'm really missing the possibility of having different diaries, folders or anything like that. Throughout the years I've wrote on may different topics (dreams, gardening, family, cooking and so on) and now I find myself having way too many tags on too many topics.
If having different diaries is not possible, I think nested tags (parent tag >> child tags) could be useful to quickly search for a "big pool" of entries.

irenedibosco I find myself using a LOT of tags too and nested tags would be so useful to automatically add parent tags when you're tagging an aspect of work or personal life.

I know you're busy, but just another customer wishing for multiple diaries 🙂 It would be such a huge important feature if it were to land. I cannot begin to describe how it would improve my daily life. Thanks

This feature was requested more than 5 years ago. I bought Diarium in 2020, but it's still not possible to use it with multiple vaults (private / work). Thats really disappointing.
Please realize this important feature! Thanks.

I too love this idea. (It’s more important to me to have higher resolution photos - that’s a separate request!-, but it is a bit of a pain to publish separately to make two journals, and I’m always afraid I’m going to mess something up, lol! However, at least it’s possible to do a workaround for multiple journals in the meantime.)

But again, like others, I understand how busy Timo is, so it’s just something I am hoping for.
