timo I actually do understand, since I have been programming for years and have maintained my own apps which have customizable settings. I understand that some settings might be difficult to implement for multiple different platforms and if this is one of them I understand why you don't want to implement it. But some settings are actually really simple to implement without adding complex logic to it, so I wish that you would consider adding customizable settings at least for the easy ones. Some simple settings are not prone to bugs at all and do not require maintaining.
Just because you can't add every thing as an advanced setting, does not mean that you should not have advanced settings section at all. With advanced settings the user knows that the setting in question is optional, which takes care of most of your "feature creep" fears regarding new user experience.
