Thanks for the feedback. I’ve made some improvements for the next update: if an “On this day” entry has no photo and no heading, the widget will now show a short text excerpt from the entry instead of an empty-looking card. I also adjusted the text fallback layout a bit so text-only entries are easier to distinguish.
There is no special recommended photo size; normal photos should work fine, as the app creates/downscales the widget preview internally.
