HabitNow Integration Request (With Broadcast Intent Detail)

Hi Timo,

Thank you for creating such an exceptional, feature-rich journaling companion. The way it consolidates data from third-party tools makes it incredibly unique.

I would love to request a dedicated feed integration for HabitNow, which is a highly popular habit-tracking application on Android.

Please note that HabitNow does not have a public cloud API available. However, a seamless offline integration could be possible using system-level mechanics. Specifically, if the HabitNow developer exposes them, Diarium could utilize a silent Android Broadcast Intent listener. Whenever a habit is checked off in HabitNow, it could fire a local broadcast containing the habit name and completion time, which Diarium could quietly listen for and automatically log into the daily timeline.

Alternatively, it could be done by parsing a local automated backup file if a shared data schema could be established. Having this data right next to our daily tasks would make the timeline view the ultimate all-in-one space for daily reflection.

Keep up the incredible work with the app! I really love Diarium.

Thanks for the details. Diarium already uses a similar Android broadcast approach for the WorkingHours integration, so this would be possible in principle.

However, HabitNow would need to provide a documented broadcast/API/export format first. Diarium cannot read another app’s private data directly, and I don’t want to rely on an undocumented backup format that may break anytime.
