The Apple Journal app export produces a file titled, "AppleJournalEntries" containing two folders and a Text file. One folder is titled, "Entries" (containing HTML files for each entry), another folder titled "Resources" (containing CAF, HEIC, M4A, JPG, JPEG, JSON, MOV, PNG and WEBP files) and a singular HTML document titled, "Index" . These were exported from my iPhone 15 to my iCloud account.
When I attempt to import the files from my iCloud account through the iPhone Diarium app, no file is recognized in the location to which I saved the export, most likely because there was no ZIP exported from Apple Journal.
So next, I used my Windows 11 based laptop (I do not have a MAC) to connect to my iCloud account. Through the File Explorer, I was able to download the "AppleJournalEntries" main folder and compressed into a ZIP file (that appears to be 18.34 GB). Then, I uploaded the ZIP back to the original location of the Apple Journal export in my iCloud account and attempted to "migrate" through the Diarium app on my iPhone. The app "sees" the ZIP file uploaded to my iCloud account, however when I select the file on my iPhone, nothing happens, the chosen ZIP file doesn't become highlighted, it does not open, it's as if I'm clicking on a blank place on the screen. I am able to open other folders that appear in the same location as the ZIP file, but nothing migrates or imports.
***UPDATE****
The issue accessing the ZIP file was due to an iPhone memory issue - I ran out of space to open the ZIP file within Diarium. After offloading many apps I was able to connect to the ZIP file of Apple Journal exports. Ultimately, I had to reset my phone, but have successfully migrated Apple Journal to Diarium. 🥳🥳🥳
