Intermittent Sync

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max with IOS 18.6.2 and an iMac M1 with Sequoia 15.6.1. Both are loaded with Diarium 3.160. They are synced through my home modem. The syncing is intermittent and random, and doesn't respond when I use the sync command. I haven't found anything directly related to this particular setup on the Forum. Please advise how I can sort this problem.

Latest Diarium version on iOS is 3.1.62.

What sync option do you use? iCloud? Google Drive? What do you mean with "synced through my home modem"?
What exactly happens? What do you mean with "random"?
This really sounds like an internet connection issue

I use iCloud for syncing. When I say synced through my home modem, I mean both machines are connected to it at the same time when syncing, and both go through iCloud. By 'random' I mean that sometimes the sync works and sometimes it doesn't. I find it hard to believe this on-going problem is due to an internet issue as we have fibre optic and it works flawlessly, but I will be pleased to make any syncing tests or suggestions you can come up with. Thank you.

When the sync doesn't work, what exactly happens? Any error message? Does the arrow just keep spinning?
It could also be an iCloud issue on your device - maybe signing out and back in might help. I am not sure if there's a bug in the app related with iCloud syncing because I cannot remember having made significant changes to it since weeks or months, and I haven't heard about a similar issues from other users.

When I press sync, I get a message saying the databases are already synced, but the latest entry don't get synced, even after waiting a couple of hours.

Just that I understand correctly: you make a change to an entry, go back to the main page, click on the sync button and that message appears?
Would it be able to record a video of this and send it to me at diariumapp@outlook.com?

I haven't checked this for changing an existing entry. I notice the error like this: when I'm out during the day I make diary entries. When I get home, I check to ensure the version at home now includes the new entries. If I see that it hasn't, I try syncing on both machines. It works most of the time, but every so often it informs me that syncing has already occurred even though the home machine hasn't been updated. As for making a video, I'm not sure I'm savvy enough to do that, and all you'll see is the message I've just described.

You have the automatic sync enabled, correct? So when you do entries during the day, that's on your iPhone? When you get home and see on your Mac that entries are missing, is there a checkmark in the sync icon on your iPhone? Does the problem get resolved when, in this situation, you are making another change to the iPhone database, then manually trigger the sync on the iPhone and then also sync on the Mac?

I didn't know about the auto sync, and it turns out it wasn't enabled on the desktop. I've turned it on now, so hopefully that's fixed the problem. It doesn't explain why manual sync sometimes failed, but I'm hoping that's the end of the problem.
Apart from that, I'm very pleased with Diarum. I'm a refugee from IOS Journal, and I quit that initially because its search feature was very hit and miss.

That's surprising since it's enabled by default. Maybe you accidentially disabled it at some point. Hope it works as expected now.

Hi Im having a similar issue:

Diarium version: Win 3.2.4.0, Android 3.2.3
OS + version: Win 10 (Bought from Microsoft Store, Android 16
Device model: Fold 7.

Both device has cloud sync to the same google account, both has tick mark.

Phone i entererd say example 20 emtries, only 5 showed up on Window version. The fact it has some entires says that the sync is correct, its just not syncing all the entries.

Please help.

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see in your journal and in the settings under cloud sync (both devices) - diariumapp@outlook.com?
What exactly happens when you make a change on one device and sync on both devices?
