Can't attach ogg file to diary entry

Diarium version: 3.1.42.0
OS + version: Windows 11 Home 24H2
Device model: Alienware x14

Wanted to attach a voice message which I had downloaded from Discord to a diary entry. I tried several times and each time I got the same error "error while encoding audio: the byte stream of the given URL is unsupported (exception from HRESULT: 0xC00D36C4)." The error message appeared and disappeared very quickly so I had to screenshot it to read it properly. I was able to attach it once I translated it into MP3 form. Could you either a) translate/natively handle ogg audio files or b) allow the file to be attached without trying to play it "inline" (let it play in an external player)?

I got a different error than yours, but was able to reproduce the problem of not being able to add .ogg files. I think it's because Windows simply doesn't come with an .ogg encoder/decoder, unlike the other platforms. Even after downloading and installing the .ogg extension from the Microsoft Store it wouldn't work. I think the only real "fix" here is to either disallow adding .ogg files (or treat them like normal "files" with "non-media" file extensions, like pdfs). Or to allow adding them uncompressed, if they don't exceed the 30 MB attachment limit. I am leaning towards option 1

I've decided that the app will continue to show an error, but with a better error text: "Error while encoding audio - Unsupported media format".
