Currently, when filtering by tags using the AND operator, after selecting the first tag, the list of available tags remains unchanged. However, many of the suggested tags won’t lead to any result.
It would be much clearer if the list updated based on the selected tag, so that only tags that actually work with the one already selected are shown.
It’s basically like saying: “With the tag you’ve chosen, you can only continue with these.”
It avoids confusion and helps guide the user more intuitively.
Let me give a simple example to clarify.
I have these 5 notes, each with its own tags:
1. “Vacation in Italy” → #travel, #2023, #europe
2. “Ideas for the next trip” → #travel, #2024, #ideas
3. “Meeting report” → #work, #2024, #meeting
4. “Random notes” → #ideas, #thoughts
5. “Trip to Japan” → #travel, #asia, #2023
Now, if I select the tag #travel with the AND operator active, it would make sense for the app to only show these tags as next options:
• #2023
• #2024
• #europe
• #asia
• #ideas
Because these are the only tags that appear together with #travel in at least one note.
It doesn’t make sense to also show tags like #work or #meeting, since no note contains both #travel and those tags.
That’s why, after the first selection, it would be helpful if the app filtered the tag list automatically — so it’s immediately clear: “Only these make sense with what you’ve already selected.”
That’s all — just a suggestion. If you find it useful, great. If not, no worries.
