Text Disappeared. Recoverable? Undo?

I wanted to insert a sentence, and pressed enter to move text down. Found that the paragraph disappeared. Why? Is it recoverable? Is there an "undo" action?

When having a problem or question please:

Yes there is - you can use the keyboard shortcuts or the undo button in the formatting menu.

Suggestion: I have read FAQ and many posts in Community Forum - that was time consuming. However it would be helpful for new and inexperienced users if there was a link to FAQ (BASICS) and alphabetical e.g. Text Formatting - How to access? It might save you much exasperation with "dumb"questions being asked.

I agree that the text formatting bar is a bit "hidden" on Windows as it requires text selection or a mouse right-click to appear. I just haven't found a better place to show it so far and I don't want to clutter the user interface.
I will consider adding it to the FAQs, but FAQs are only helpful as long as they aren't too long either - then reading them through also takes a lot of time.
I think the search function here in the forum is pretty powerful. If you search for "undo" you find a lot of posts regarding the topic and also the answer to your question:
