Voice recording playback / screen lock

I lock my diary (with TouchID). When playing back audio recordings, if the screen goes to sleep or if I lock it, playback stops.

I think I understand why this happens but I wonder if there is a way to change it. It's essentially impossible or at least very annoying to keep the screen awake when listening back to a long recording, and I don't want to leave the app unprotected. Would be nice to be able to listen with the screen locked and still have the diary password-protected.

It's expected behavior that the app navigates to the lock screen when the app is paused (e.g. because the screen is turned off). And when the app navigates away from the audio screen, the playback stops - there is no easy way to workaround that.
I could think about disabling the screen timeout when playing audio, would that help?

i think that the ideal would be something like how Voice Memos works on iOS. when playing back audio you can lock the screen and playback continues. from the lock screen, you can play or pause the recording. is that feasible?

S Your second suggestion would only be possible when I made substantial changes to the app. "Voice Memos" is an app that is all about recording and playing audio files, it can completely focus on doing just that, while Diarium is a journal app where the audio recording part is just a (rather small) part of the app. It is not possible for me to make it as "perfect" of an audio app compared to other, dedicated audio apps

Ok, with the next app update, the Lock Screen should be prevented when playing an audio file - but only if the user has enabled password protection (otherwise it's not needed, as the audio continues to play even when the screen locks)
