Can't download app on Microsoft store, alternative link asks me to pay again.

MysticReverie as you suggested, this is a Microsoft store problem. I have no control over the installation process. Did you try restarting your Windows, making sure there are no pending Windows updates as well as not pending updates in the Microsoft store? Did you try to reset the Microsoft Store?

I would like to report this issue to Microsoft engineers and ask for their recommendations on how this can be resolved, but I need some more information on what exactly happens when you perform those steps and what errors you see

There was no ouput on wsreset, it just opened up the terminal window for a bit then it closes again.
The microsoft store just hangs at 'Preparing to download - getting files ready'.
I've tried restarting pc, updating, wsreset.

Again, wouldn't it be better for you not to rely on microsoft store?
If you made your software available elsewhere, without having to pay for it again.
Do you have a Linux version?
I run a dual boot so a Linux version would be fine.

I googled your error and it seems like some people have this problem when they are using an external or secondary drive to install apps onto. What drive have you set to install apps onto? Also, do other apps install without issues, just Diarium doesn't install?
How long have you waited for the app to install when this message is showing?

For 99.9% of users, the Store works just fine. It has the benefit that I don't need to host the app on my own servers, which comes with it's own set of problems.
I don't have a Linux version, sorry.

Yes I did that.
I only have one hard drive on this laptop, no secondary drive.
I've waited a very long time when its 'preparing to download' and nothing happens.
I've tried a few things in that video.. will try the rest when I have a bit more time.
I just downloaded Netflix app on Microsoft store, and it downloaded quickly. So it seems it may be a problem with the Diarium app downloadd.

I asked a Microsoft employee who is working on the Store app about your problem and he responded that this sounds like a problem with Windows Update.
He asked me if you could run the wscollect.exe command and share the resulting .cab file (diariumapp@outlook.com).

Hello! I have the same problem. I restarted Windows from the settings. Microsoft Store opens in a blank window. I tried many ways to fix it and finally did a new installation. That didn't help either. Now I can't install Diarium on my laptop. I hope someone with the same problem can share a solution 🙂.
It works perfectly on Android.

That's a Microsoft Store or Windows issue that I cannot resolve or really help with - sounds like something with it is broken. I am not sure what you mean with "I did a new installation". Did you google the problem or ask an AI like ChatGPT about this?

Absolutely everything. Today more than 2 hours of chat with Microsoft support with Quick Assist. So far without result.
I mean a new installation of Windows.

dincher Yes the Gumroad version is identical to the one in the Microsoft Store.
It's recommended to get it from the MS Store because it's cheaper for you and it's easier to maintain for me. The Store version is also ususally updated in more regular intervals.
