HTML attachments

Hello,

The issue is that HTML files attached to Diarium, do not open when trying to open them via Diarium (i.e. double-clicked in Diarium).

The opening of a HTML file results in the error below:

Safari can’t open the page “file:///Users/me/Library/Containers/mac.partl.Diarium/Data/tmp/example.html”

Kindly look into this issue.

When clicking on a file that cannot be opened in Diarium directly, Diarium saves the file in the app's temporary folder and requests macOS to open the file with the default program - in this case Safari. And it looks like Safari is unable to access the file (or just blocks the file for security reasons).
I don't know what the best way is to work around this problem. Diarium can not write files to folders outside it's own app container without explicit user action (because it is sandboxed). And even if it could, where should it put the file...?
I suggest to simply save the html file manually (e.g. on the Desktop) and then launch it from there

I'd like to report that the same web file PREVIEWs perfectly when opened on iOS 18. And I imagined that iOS would be even more restrictive. In light of this, could, perhaps, the same PREVIEW mechanism be employed on macOS?

Also, perhaps if Diarium were to have AppleScript support, users could manipulate attachments via scripting.

On iOS, a different preview mechanism is used, which is not available on macOS (QLPreviewController).
But I did some more investigation and found a way to preview files (like html) in the Diarium app directly. Will be added with the next update!

What about pdf files(ios n mac)
It should automatically open pdf

This is annoying when i have more pdf files per entry. I have to click preview button for every pdf file.

It would save some time when viewing many files.

I think it can cause problem if the content is scrollable (like PDFs). That could prevent your from quickly swiping through your attachments

Can we introduce prev/next buttons on either side within attachment?( Also keeping swipe in place)

At the moment I wouldn't want to make changes here. I expect the amount of users who have PDFs in their journals to be rather low, compared to the ones who just use images or videos
