Bug Fix?

Diarium version: ?Latest (Diarium won't open for me so can't check).
OS + version: Android 12
Device model: Galaxy S10

As mentioned I cannot open the Diarium app on my phone, it just crashes.

I get this message at the bottom of my phone screen:
"Something went wrong with Diarium
Diarium closed because it has a bug.
Try updating this app after it's developer provides a fix for this error."

My phone has also given a notification that Diarium is crashing frequently so it's recommended putting Diarium into deep sleep to keep my phone running smoothly.

I don't see this problem mentioned by anyone else so thought I'd double-check whether it's just me or is it a known bug being worked on.

I also have this problem. I'm on android 14 and samsung s22. It was fine this morning but now it won't open and says there is a bug. I tried restarting phone and I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it still won't open. At first when I reinstalled it worked for a few minutes but then it crashed again and said the same message about a bug. At first the message said to clear cache, which I did but then it changed to say there was a bug.

Yep, still got the problem. I did the same as you, bought the pc version so at least I have something. At the moment I'm using a notes app to write things on my phone then rewriting them in the pc version and syncing after every entry so I don't lose anything.

I just did another uninstall/ reinstall & it appears to be working again 👍

I see crash reports in my reporting, which are likely caused by this change.
Would it be possible for one of you to send me your database (that you can backup e.g. from your other device)? That would help me reproduce and fix it quickly.

I created a backup right after I installed on my pc - backup was named Diarium.diary (created on my OneDrive) - is this the one you mean? ... or is there a file on my phone/ Galaxy S10 (device the problem occurred on) that you want?

Thinking on this, I'm pretty sure you'd want the file from my phone (sorry for the earlier stupid question).
Meanwhile the phone app crashed & wouldn't open again - I was re-doing my settings at the time.
I again did a uninstall/ reinstall & it is functioning again ... I immediately did a backup, but when I tried to send it to you I got the message that it exceeds a 26.2 MB limit.
Tomorrow I'll try to zip & send it to you.

Yes I am talking about the Diarium.diary file - you can put it on OneDrive and then share the link to it with me, no matter the file size.
The app crashes when using the timeline view - you should be able to use the app when reinstalling and then sticking to the calendar view

If I did it right you should have the link by now.
Yes, I changed the filename slightly, wanted to be sure it wouldn't overwrite my previous backup from the pc.

Thanks for the file. I still wasn't able to reproduce the crash on my test device, but I still think I was able to resolve the problem and uploaded a new app version, which hopefully becomes available soon.
Would be great to hear if the problem is fixed for you with the v3.0.86 update and if the ordered lists render correctly in the timeline view

Quick update: the new app version is still "in review" - I don't know what's going on recently, the Play Store certification times have gone up significantly. I hope it will be available soon
