Hello, I have downloaded pro versions on both my Android Phone and Dell laptop. I have synced to my Google Drive which has plenty of room but my two versions aren't syncing to each other. I ensured I bought pro for both as I saw on the FAQs that this was what was required. Any further help would be great thank you.

Please double-check that you are logged in with the same Google account to the Cloud Sync - you can do so in the app settings

I came here to address a similar issue. I bought the Pro version for PC but am happy enough with the free version for iPad and Android. However, it looks like while I can sync to Google Drive with my PC version, the resulting v4_database file can't then be imported by the other devices from the same Google Drive. Is that correct? So I can "one button sync" to back up my PC but if I want to export-import I need to export from Diarium PC (Pro) into the same folder. Is that right? Or is there a compatibility issue?

It would be nice if the "regular" Diarium could natively read the database files. If I used export/import would it work? Would I lose any extra stuff added in Pro?

DrBrake Please just ignore the files that are being created in the Diarium folder on your Google Drive. They are used exclusively by the Cloud Sync. There should be a readme.txt in the same folder that says the same.
Please follow the steps provided in the Sync FAQ. How can I improve the FAQs or overall experience?

I don't understand what you mean with "the regular Diarium not being able to read database files". It should do that. But the "backup database" (that can be created in the app settings) is something different than the "v4_database" used for the sync

Looking at the documentation I think I do understand - if my Android and iPad were both "pro" as well as my Windows machine, they could all "sync" and use the same file on Google Drive. But the only way otherwise to ensure all my Diarium devices have the same up to date diary on it is to export from the most recent one and import to the current one. I guess I can cope with that limitation - I just want to make sure that if I export from Pro, import to a non-pro device and export from there back into a Pro device again no data is lost in the process.

DrBrake Yes that's right, but in the context of Diarium "export" means "export to .docx, .html, etc - these files cannot be imported into Diarium again! Diarium calls the process of saving the database "backup", and this creates a ".diary" file which can be imported using the "import" button
