App stops working when editing an older post

Bought Pro version 3.0.75 on Android 8 used for about two weeks only, the app has just started to shut down repatedly when I attempt at editing an older post. Thanks for your help with this 🙏.

It looks like some issue with Googles code that only occurs on Android 8. Does the crash only happen on one particular entry? From what I can see now, I don't think I can fix this crash, as I don't have any control over Googles code

timo What is Google code? Yes, thus far I have discovered that it happens persistently on one entry (on which it has worked before) but not on others as yet. I need to edit some entries, as I use them continuously. What is the help then? What do you suggest that I do about it?

Some more info: the crash doesn't happen because I changed something in the app, it happened for other Android 8 users in previous Diarium versions as well. The bug was fixed in Android 9 and newer releases: https://android-review.googlesource.com/c/platform/frameworks/base/+/634929
I am not sure if it is worth to spend a lot of time on this issue trying to workaround it, given that Android 8 is pretty old and not that many users are still using it...

I spent 2 hours on this issue now and was not able to reproduce or workaround it. Perhaps I will exclude Android 8 devices from downloading the app in the future...

timo I bought the Pro version of your app about two weeks ago. It said it is compatible with my phone. I could have used the free version but liked what the paid version offered, so I went for it. As an Android 8 user, I do hope it will serve me well in the future and that you will allow people like me to keep using it. I do not want my investment wasted. Thank you!

Can you perhaps contact me via mail (diariumapp@outlook.com) so we can more easily discuss this problem? Maybe, with your help, I can reproduce the problem. At the moment I can not, and therefore also not fix the problem.

After more investigation I can confirm that the crash happens due to a bug in Android 8 which has been fixed in Android 9. In the next update I will implement a workaround that may or may not resolve the issue, perhaps at the cost of text render performance.
