CONTEXT:
Many of my entries originally were made on Journey. Journey tags have the limitation that they do not allow spaces between words and does not allow capital letters. The result is that tags are difficult to read.
Upon importing my entries to Diarium, I have been gradually converting the Journey tags to more readable versions including spaces between words and capital letters where needed (both features allowed by Diarium).
During this process, I have discovered that some tags are redundant, and therefore, they should be merged.
PREVIOUS BEHAVIOR FOR MERGING OF TAGS ON DIARIUM:
On previous versions of Diarium, when I discovered I wanted to merge two tags into one, I would simply edit the label of a tag I wanted to discard to be the same label text of the tag I wanted to keep. The process was seamless and I ended up with all tags merged with the same label.
BUG IN CURRENT DIARIUM VERSION:
It has been a while since I had not merged tags with the procedure explained above, so I am not sure what version the different behaviour begun.
The bug in the current version of Diarium is that when I edit the tag label of an existing tag to have the same text as a different, pre-existing tag label (the exact same workfolw I successfully used before) the app closes (crashes).
Then, when I open Diarium again, the tag that was edited has been deleted, but the entries are without a tag, instead of having the tag of the revised tag label.
IMPLICATIONS OF THE BUG:
I have over 15,000 entries so changing tags manually (instead of merging them), one by one, is undoable.
