IOS UI design update - refresh (one thing is super easy!)

I love the app and its functions. But working every day with an app that looks great would be even better.

A refresh of the UI would be nice. I think there are many examples of journal apps that looks great but missing the functions that Diarium has. When updating the design to a UI that’s fancy today there will be more interest from the market as well…

One thing that is easy to change: adding an entry is nice but why the “add” part is getting that big?

Make it smaller and place the icons in top? It’s eating half of my screen that’s left beside my keyboard 🙃

I think t is mainly because of location .

When there is location for the entry, map renders up as rectangular view

Please use the search before posting feature requests. This has been posted before here.
Also, what excactly is the problem with the buttons? What would be the benefit from smaller buttons apart from aesthetics? If they were smaller, you wouldn't see more of your text, just more blank space.

timo sorry Timo! I see that it’s already suggested once before. Personally I think it’s really worth to consider because the buttons consuming a lot of space.

I understand your reply about that clients need to understand what they are pressing on but:

1) They learn the first time what the function is right?
2) isn’t it something that the ICONS must explain their function? Or it’s important to place Bolt at the B as well? And image at the image button? And so on? 😇

However; I like the app!

Further, my next point about the design.. it’s personal and up to you of course but like I explained; a daily app may be nice to see I think. Take a look to some other fancy apps and their “looks”.

Jeroentb Before I make changes, I need to understand what the problem is with the current design and that's what I asked. You didn't answer that quesion. "They are too big" doesn't help me understand the problem. What's the problem with them being big? What information are they covering? As I said in my comment above: If the buttons were smaller in your screenshot above, you wouldn't see any more text or other content, just more blank white space.
It would be great if we could continue the discussion in the original thread that I linked above, so we can have a focused discussion that isn't spread over multiple threads.
