That would be awesome! I use a separate password for the app on my iPhone. So when I want to note thoughts from a book into Diarium, I always have to re-enter the password..

On Android, a 5 seconds time window is used in which the user can return to the app without having to reenter the password. On iOS, no such timeout is used. The app needs to navigate to the password screen right when the user minimizes the app so that iOS takes a screenshot from that screen instead of the journal entries screen which is then used in the task switcher. But maybe there is another way to prevent the display of sensitive information in the task switcher without having to lock the journal right away.
What kind of timeout would you want to use? I don't plan to make this setting user-adjustable at this time, unless there is enough demand for it

timo I think it should be at least 30 seconds, maybe even 60 🤔 5 isn't enough. I usually need to unlock it after switching.

When using the app, I find myself frequently switching between apps to ensure that I am entering the correct information, often taking reference from other apps. However, I have experienced some difficulties when the app times out and I have to unlock it to resume my work.
I believe that adding a selectable time-out option to the app would be a great solution. This would allow users to choose the duration of inactivity before the app automatically times out, eliminating the inconvenience of having to unlock it repeatedly.

Yes, please add the option to set either a custom time-out or to have the app time-out when the window is closed.
I also desperately want the option not to get a notification when the app has timed out. As it stands now, I may be elsewhere on my computer (watching a movie, focused on work, etc.) when a pop-up window emerges telling me the diary app has locked. The pop-up won't go away until I click on it. It's too interrupting and annoying to me. Thank you!

A custom timeout of course would be ideal, but for me 30-60 seconds would already be such a great improvement.
