Pinned entry at top of timeline view

I think it could be handy to have the ability to pin an entry to the top of your timeline view so it's always there - think how subreddits on Reddit can have pinned posts that always display at the top.

I can think of a number of uses for a pinned post - as a reminder of something, as reference, even just a way to keep notes.

In my case, I recently had to make myself a rating guide outlining what I consider to be a 1/2/3/4/5 star day, since I realized I often rate my days inconsistently, and having that pinned for reference would be nice. I also use emojis as tags and it would be nice to have those listed out as reference as well, as sometimes I forget what each emoji tag is meant to represent.

This might be a very niche thing that isn't needed by most people, so it may not be seen as necessary. Just sharing a thought because maybe others would find such a feature useful as well 🙂

This sounds like a similar feature request like this one.
I would recommend to test out this workaround posted by a user - maybe it is also working good enough for you

timo Smart thinking. I did think it might be a little too niche and specific to warrant adding as an actual feature but thought I'd bring it up anyway. This is a clever workaround though and I'll try this in the meantime.

timo Hi Timo, the workaround is tedious and, in my use case, the entry is still time-based but I want it pinned on top.

My use case: I have entries for my weekly plans and monthly plans. I create them at the start of the week / month.

Weekly plan - created on Sept 21 for Sept 21 to 27
Monthly plan - created on Sept 1 for the month of September

I'd like these 2 entries pinned on top while the dates are still valid. On Sept 28, I'll unpin the last week's plan and I'll create a new weekly plan for this week which I will then pin on top. The same goes with the monthly plan. I'll create a new monthly plan on Oct 1 and unpin September's plan.

The workaround is tedious because:

I lose the date I created the entry if I manually change the date to a future date to keep it pinned.
I could restore the original entry creation date but that is an additional hurdle. I have to note it down and then edit the entry to put it back when I unpin the entry.
Changing the date and time involves a lot of mouse clicks. You have to click the "change date", change the month, day, time, minute, AM/PM. Pinning would be just 1 action if it just toggles between pinned and unpinned.
In the Calendar view, there is a "fake" entry. In this screenshot, it appears that I created an entry on Sept 30 but it is a fake. I created it on Sept 1 but I future dated it to Sept 30 date because I want to pin the entry on top of the timeline.

Bunny I also have a "note" that is a description of my emoji tagging system. What I did was make it a "Template" and then set it to my "Default Template." When I make a new entry, that note is already there. Then I just delete that portion when I'm done writing the entry itself.
