GIFs fail to play

OS + version:

GIFs always worked great. But since a few weeks, they don't work anymore. There is just a picture by clicking on them. That is really sad, because it was a great feature, which made a great difference for me and which I used each day. Can you please tell me, if this bug is going to be fixed?

It's not a bug, this change was on purpose, see here.
How are you using the GIF feature? Why is it important to you?

I'm sorry this function has been turned off. I thought it added real interest to the monthly view and I used it alot. I do hope in the future you'll consider reinstating it.
