Can’t create tag

Hello,

I can’t create tags on any of my entries 🙁
The only ones I can use are the default ones: Diarium and Diary.

The app version I have: 2.9.72
The operating system: iOS 16.4.1

Steps to reproduce:

create a journal entry
click on Add Tags (bottom of page)
from the menu click Add Tags
click on the +
nothing happens

I think using tags is very useful for everyone as we can search specific items really quick.

It would be awesome if it could be fixed ❤️

You need to enter the desired tag into the text field before clicking the + button

I am having a problem too. I add the name and click done. But then the tag disappears. It took me 10 tries and 3 crashes to finally add my tag. Can you please just give a step by step tutorial. I have no idea why that tag disappeared. Two other ones I previously created worked.

Sue Would it be possible to create a screen capture video recording and send it to me via mail (diariumapp@outlook.com)? That helps me better understanding what exactly happens. A video contains much more information for me to understand the problem than a textual description. The app certainly shouldn't crash - this sounds there is something for me to fix.

I think I solved it … I am definitely not video savvy. Here was my mistake. I would see a red circle with a line next to my new tag in a separate area from the other tags. I then tried to alphabetize it within the other tags. I did not realize that the separated area actually designates the tags being used for that entry. A quick tutorial really would have helped and explained that the isolated tags are for that entry.

Sue The bottom area show the tag already added to the entry, that is correct. Can you please specify what exactly you did that caused the app to crash? I would really like to fix that

timo as I said, by trying to alphabetize the entry’s tags on top with the remaining created tags on bottom, the app crashed. It really did not like that!

Sue I'm sorry, my mother tongue is not English - I don't understand what exactly you did in order to alphabetize the tags. Like there's no "alphabetize" button you could click. What did you type, tap or swipe in order to alphabetize? That's why I mean with a video is more accurate/descriptive than words 😉
I understand that you don't like a crashing app, that's why I try to understand how you could get the app to crash, so I can fix it 😉

timo I just clicked the new tags so they moved to the bottom section of older tags and returned to entry. Of course, the new tag did not show up so I went back to tags and recreated the same steps. I did this a number of times trying to figure what was wrong and I guess the continuous repetitive action crashed the app. It really was not my intent.
