Multiple diaries

It's be great to have the ability to have more than one journal. Sometimes a "diary" alone is not sufficient, but the ability to have another category (i.e., another journal name) would be helpful.

timo Yes, I'd like this as at present, I am running 2 jurnals, one here, and one in a pdf from a programme I'm following.. Neither give me all the features I'd like in each journal.

"Approved" does that mean this is a feature you are developing? I'm in the process of planning our homeschool year. I would love to know that this is coming.

No, "approved" does not mean that this is planned. I might have to rename that tag into "in consideration".

Hi, does this feature already released ?
I didn't find it in the apps...
It would be great like we have more than just one "book of journal"..
We have one for personal, and one for business.

Anyway, we have tags right now.

It's a very big feature. There's a lot of questions that would need to be answered. Like how to treat the app settings? Do they apply to both journals equally or would there have to be a separate "settings" instance for? What about the reminder notifications? Do they trigger for both journals or only the "active" one?
Same for the Cloud Sync. Does both journals always sync to the same cloud account or can they sync to different ones (so users could have a private journal and one they can share with others)? Then the whole syncing logic is probably pretty complex to implement.
I might have to test out some other apps offering multiple journals and see how they did answer those questions.

"One" settings, universal across all diaries.

again, one reminder for how ever many diaries you have. Its then up to the user which diary/journal they update. Users can choose to also have the option of displaying all diaries in the timeline view or just the main one.

All diaries to same cloud account, but in settings, you can mark a particular diary as NOT E2E encryption therefore it would be accessible via the web version for example.

Essentially, what I remember is that all the settings are global and the only "separate settings" would be toggle switches for which diaries to show in timeline view, make E2E encrypted, or 'do not show in timeline' etc etc

Though a different type of App, Apples iPhoto is a good example. Normally I click the startup and the default is loaded. I can also hold down the Option key before clicking and it asks me what Library I want to open.

Multiple diaries would be great because it would let you have one for personal stuff and one for work related notes.

Seems to me a simpler approach to multiple diaries could be done via tags.

I basically have two sets of entries: logs and notes.
All my logs have the tag "log ". There are 7400 of these
The rest of my entries, some 3000, have tags like "Article" or "email" or "note"
This works, kind of. It's a bit fragile.

What might make it work would be "sticky tag"
So, if i were to Make the tag "work " sticky, every thing i did would only apply to entries with that tag. I could then search through that pile or operate on it as if it were a separate diary. If I wanted to work on another like, say "school", then the diary i see would only consist of school entries.
