Manually add location

It would be nice if one could manually add a location to a Diarium entry other than the actual present location.
Example: I recently had a special outing but without using Diarium to record it. Once back home I wrote an entry in Diarium about the outing and tried to manually add the location on the map, but it only added my home location.
This would be helpful for those who only use Diarium on their home computer yet still want to add locations to special events they had outside the home.
Otherwise thanks for a great app!

You can always click on the map and adjust the location as desired. Or do you want some other behavior?

I tried it once and the location always returned to my present home location. Now I just discovered the "Save" icon, which I had overlooked before.

Can I ask, what behaviour is required for a 'tag' to appear at the top of the map (I'm using Windows)?

I seem to have several with the same heading, but all pointing to different locations on the map? But many of my many searches do not have a tag

Those tags at the top are the most-tagged locations in your database. E.g. it looks like the most entries in your journal have a location at "West Allotment". When there are more tags with the same name, they are also at "West Allotment", but all at a slightly different spot

SeanSmith No, the names/"tags" aren't stored in the database, they are generated/requested dynamically (from the operating system) when you open the location page

AvinashR There's only one tag/suggestion visible in your screenshot. How many entries in your journal do have location information and are they all on the very same spot? If not, there should be more "tags"

@timo currently there are nearly 80 with location. all are spread across india in nearly 6 states and india is a huge country to start with.

so i can say that they are spread across country.
few states i can mention are mumbai,hyderabad, bangalore, delhi, kerala,gujarat and more.

i also have few out side india

note: all my locations were created by clicking “add location” . i didn’t search for location nor selected pin by dragging. it was always current location when entry was made.

Where does the map jump to when you click the "North Atlantic Ocean" button?
My guess is that there are some entries that have a "latitude=0, longitude=0" location (which is in the North Atlantic ocean), which could maybe happen when migrating from another app. Was that the case for you?
How many entries do you have in total? Is there a chance you can provide me an overview of all your locations? Maybe export as JSON with only the "location" data and then remove all "heading" and "html" of your export using a script so only a list of date and location is left?

I clicked on the north Atlantic Ocean, it took me to North Atlantic Ocean. But I don’t have any entries in that location as you can see in the screenshot

I did not use any export apps for diary. this is my first diary application

I will try to export only locations with dates this weekend or next week

when i try To change existing location by tapping on new location And go back, it asks me to save or not.

at this time, if you can see in the screenshot, it has two tags which are same and its pointing to north Atlantic Ocean for both.

As I wrote in an earlier comment above, having the same tag name appearing in the list twice is not a bug - it can happen when two locations are in the same city (or same ocean in that case) but away enough from each other that they count as two different locations. This is on purpose, because you can have multiple "favorite spots" in the same city. I know that it would be better if in that case it would be ideal if those tags had a better name, but I don't know of an easy way to realize that

i meant to say that second tag appear while moving away from page after modifying to different location but not when location/map is opened.

I have an issue too. On my Windows PC all the locations are correct and are all as expected, however, on iOS I have the North Atlantic Ocean showing too? - I always let iOS chose the current location when I create an entry and full access to my location is allowed on both devices.

I can also confirm that I migrated from Day One a couple years ago and it seems strange how Windows is doing things correctly but iOS is not...
