Android App and GoogleDrive

I installed Diarium, which I am enjoying so far, on my Android and Windows 10 laptop. I tried to do a backup on the Android version to GoogleDrive, but it does not show it as an option. I can backup to DropBox, but no Google drive selection. I'd just use DropBox, but it's not working properly on my laptop, or anywhere for that matter. I'm trying to decide if I want to buy both the Android and PC version, but if I can't get Google drive to work with the Android app... Just a bit more information, I did NOT select GoogleDrive on my laptop until AFTER I couldn't find the option on the Android app. Is this an issue of having to buy the app in order for GoogleDrive to show up as an option? I'd like to try it out first before I commit to buying it. Thank you for your help.

When using the "backup diary" button, Android displays the folder/share picker of the system. I have little to no influence on what is displayed precisely. It depends on what apps you have installed. When I test it on my device, Google Drive shows up for both the "Save on device" as well as "share to other app" option.
Are you use you want to use the "backup" button and not the "Cloud Sync"?

When I exported all my noted to my Google drive they show up in a folder but I am not able to open any of the files. They didn't get saved as docx or something that can be opened. It's like an encrypted file. When I download from Google drive it won't open in Word or anything.

NW I think you are referring to the "Cloud Sync" feature. The Cloud Sync files aren't meant to be opened by other apps, they are for the sync only. Please use the "Export" feature if you want to export in well-known formats
