integrate books read/being read that day (Goodreads, other app)

Goodreads and other apps have options for noting dates a book was read (start and end date). Would be nice to have at least book read end date surface the book in an entry (e.g., book finished on 20 Dec 2022 show up as a tag/link at the bottom of an entry for that date).

I would LOVE to add Goodreads integration, but they deprecated their API and aren't allowing new developers to sign up for it.

Ah, this is so sad!!!

I looked for alternatives and many suggest The StoryGraph and LibraryThing, but neither have APIs available right now either 🙁 The StoryGraph has it on its long-term roadmap at least.

I would be game for any other folks' thoughts on this - I am not averse to typing in "Books I read today" somewhere, but would love to see the covers/thumbnails in the entries.

I've been creating a tag for books that I've read and manually adding them as a journal entry. I usually have thoughts I have collected from reading the book anyway, so that process isn't too difficult for me.

This process is actually preferred for me since integrations (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram posts) don't show up in exports in their full format, and if Goodreads could be integrated, it wouldn't be included in exports either.
