That exactly is the problem....
Almost every time I make a change that has been requested here in the forums (in this case, it was requested here), someone else chimes in and says that it's actually a bad change (that's not to criticize you, I understand that everyone has different ways of using the app and therefore likes or dislikes certain features). That's why I more and more lean towards not making any major changes to the app any more but just improve overall performance and keep it up-to-date with the latest technology, or make changes that have basically no drawbacks.
If I added an option just to control that little thing, then another person would come in, complaining about too many options or not being able to find a more important setting. So no, you haven't overlooked this
