Share file/attachment from diarium to diarium

I basically added a file to wrong entry date in diarium app. Instead of going to other app(file source) to share again, i tried to share within diarium app(click share -> choose diarium from sheet) expecting to show up new pop-up for choosing date but app did nothing.

Diarium version: 2.9.34
OS + version: ios 16

Now its showing the popup when i click share button but as soon as i choose existing/new entry its crashing

When I reopen, the file is added as per selection.

But i have to open again app when it crashes. CRASH is not good 😞

Does it happen every single time you do it or only sometimes? I wasn't able to reproduce it.
What iPhone model are you using?

I wasn't able to reproduce the crash on my test device but I have a guess what might cause it - will make a change that hopefully prevents it from crashing in the next update.

@timo this is happening again.
It was working before. Haven’t used recently but it used to work after your work.

Now sharing to diarium does nothing. Shows share sheet but i choose diarium, sheet just disappears.

Yes this was a kind of intended change in order to make the sharing (from other apps to Diarium) go faster. It basically fails because the date-selection popup doesn't show because the sharing popup is still visible. I previously had some delay that allowed the sharing dialog to disappear before showing the date-selection popup. I will keep that behavior for now because I think faster sharing from other apps is more beneficial to most users. What and why are you sharing attachments from Diarium to Diarium? In your first post you write that you added a file to the wrong date, but does it happen that often?

It was one of scenarios.
Yesterday i had to add audio quickly but creating new entry takes lot of clicks and i might miss audio i want to record. So added in some random entry I already have and then decided to move it to new entry.
When i tried to move/share, it didn’t happen.
Quick actions/widgets would have helped much in this scenario especially when recording audio such as bird voices i came actoss during my travel, recording my daughter first words etc…

Maybe I don't understand but why does creating new entries in the sharing take longer than sharing to a random entry and then afterwards looking for that entry and share it to the correct one? The second approach sounds more complicated to me.
How would quick actions / widgets improved the workflow?

Sharing is a second step because i added to random entry quickly.

My goal is to have separate entry eventually but could not capture in short time because of the steps involved in getting to create new entry and clicking audio button. That’s why added to random entry first. Later i decide to move/share to separate entry when i got free time.

When i say quick action, it means it should do all the steps

with click of a button

Understood, thanks. Wouldn't it make more sense and also be faster if you did the voice recordings with the Apple Voice Memo app and then share the memos from there to Diarium later on?

One less app if i don’t install apple voice app.

Every recording that i make for audio recording will eventually end up in diarium so why bother having two apps and also double storage. Extra effort to delete from apple voice.

I even uninstalled apple notes and google keep after started using diarium

Photos and videos was not a problem because iphone has quick actions for camera right on Lock Screen.

They don’t have the same for audio. I am thinking to use video just to record audio but then need to spend time in install extra apps to separate audio

@timo i got an idea to do without sharing but not sure if you can implement this easily

Ios has multi finger option. So when i long press drag file(audio in the case) then with other finger i choose another entry(created ahead of selecing) and drop the file, it should be added as an attachment

Its not happening at the moment(drag and drop)
