Explain add audio - select audio please

I did look around the forums but didn't see anything that answered this. I'm using Diaries on iOS/macOS (iPad, Mac, etc, latest versions) and when I try to Add Audio -- Select Audio, it brings up a list of some of my Playlists in Apple Music, but no songs listed. I'd love to include that kind of thing in my entries, is there another step or something I'm missing? Thank you.

I just tested this feature on my iPhone and it shows my library and offers music files to select. They have to be downloaded to the device however. Maybe also some DRM-related stuff is preventing the music to show up in that dialog. You can also add music files using the "add file" button

That got me closer, thanks... It works through "add file" but through "add music" the song file is grayed out... I'm wondering if it's the DRM, as you mentioned.
